Menu

As a brand-new, cutting edge set of facilities dedicated quite exclusively to the spread of knowledge, you won't be surprised to find that the City of Arts and Sciences is a culture-packed haven that touches on a wide range of subjects. Enter this realm of stunning futuristic buildings and explore everything from the science involved in playing sports to top-notch displays of art, theater, and opera.

Upon entering the complex, you'll definitely want to amble along L'Umbracle, the paradisaical walk surrounded by colorful gardens and submerged in the aroma of blooming plants. One part of L'Umbracle is dedicated to the "Stroll of the Sculptures," an outdoor sculpture gallery full of masterful works of molded art that are not to be missed!

The Museo de las Ciencias Príncipe Felipe (Prince Felipe Museum of Sciences) is one of the few museums where it's frowned upon if you don't touch everything in sight! Combining science with the latest technology, the museum features interactive exhibits, diverse activites, experiments, and a constantly changing program of events.

The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (Queen Sofía Center of the Arts) is an incredible structure housing not one but four main installations: the Main Hall, the Master Room, the Amphitheater, and the Chamber Theater. Using music as a common denominator, this incredible venue is dedicated to literature, cinema, art, dance, theater, opera, and more. The center is also the host of the "Operalia" event; arranged by the Operalia Association under the masterful watch of renowned Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo, Operalia is a prestigious international competition attracting up-and-coming opera stars from around the globe.
